Energy Career
Pathways Course Description
The
Durango Adult Education will be offering a new course this fall called
Energy Career Pathways. This course is intended for people who are
interested in a great new career in the expanding energy industries.
Guest speakers from regional energy businesses, organizations, and
educational institutions will present information about high demand jobs
in various energy fields and how to pursue these careers. After
completing the course, participants will be eligible for up to $1000
scholarship for college, technical training, or a certification program.
The course will also feature a professional energy analyst and
residential weatherization expert who will present interactive lessons
about general energy principles and trends, explain strategies for
creating a more energy efficient home, arrange for students to observe a
professional weatherization project, and disperse stipends for
participants to purchase weatherization materials for their own homes.
The 8-week course is scheduled for Tuesdays from 2 to 5 pm, beginning
January 12th. Applications are due December 17th and are available on
the 3rd floor of the Commons Building (next to Albertson’s) or online at
