The Durango Adult Education will be offering a new course this fall called Energy Career Pathways. This course is intended for people who are interested in a great new career in the expanding energy industries. Guest speakers from regional energy businesses, organizations, and educational institutions will present information about high demand jobs in various energy fields and how to pursue these careers. After completing the course, participants will be eligible for up to $1000 scholarship for college, technical training, or a certification program.

The course will also feature a professional energy analyst and residential weatherization expert who will present interactive lessons about general energy principles and trends, explain strategies for creating a more energy efficient home, arrange for students to observe a professional weatherization project, and disperse stipends for participants to purchase weatherization materials for their own homes.
